Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! I decided to interrupt the iPod storyline for a week in order to have a fun holiday strip, but don’t worry, the conclusion of the iPod storyline will be next Friday! Coincidentally, it’s my 15th birthday on Monday, February 13th! Could I have some birthday wishes everyone?
I also have a question for you guys! I normally refer to you as “Chapel readers,” but I think we need a better name for the Chapel Chronicles community at large. I’m leaning towards the term “Chapelites,” but what are YOUR ideas? Let me know in a comment below, and don’t forget to tell me what you thought of this week’s strip!
What are your plans for Valentine’s Day? Kids take note: Chapel is pretty much the best kid ever, so maybe steal her idea and butter up your parents with candy and flowers on the 14th! (But don’t tell them I said that).
It's the most! I'm Emma's mother; she put Frank Sinatra on the radio because my father, who she never had the chance to meet, loved Frank and so do I. Which is a very sweet touch. Thank you Emma.

Disney Create irritates the crap out of meh.
1) They NEVER approve ANYTHING that I put up, unless it has, like, no writing on it.
2) Even if there is writing on it, it's always totally harmless and in no way, shape, or form can be interpereted pervertedly.
3) Yet they approve emo contests, dark angels, and evil people. WHY, I ASK YOU? WHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYY
Disney has sold it's soul to the dark one if you ask me. They have become a corporate tyrant of far too many things. they are not fair and will wring the last dime they can out of anything. they stole the whole of "Lion King" from someone else and made so much money from it. they never payed a dime to the guy who really made it. yet they crack down on ANYONE who want to make a fan work with their trade marked characters.
My Advice, wash you hands of Disney and go somewhere else. before it's too late.
(why yes, i am mad at Disney. have been for years)
Alright, Alright. you win Miss Emma, i had a dream last night. You wanted a name for your fans, and here is my possablity of one. "Chapel's faithful". why? every week we all show up all the time for we all love the chapel (and everyone who come by as well it seems).
Hello! I just want to wish you an early Happy Birthday and Valentine's Day! Keep up the good work! (Sorry I haven't been on here in a while... I moved back to the USA! In December I was living in Switzerland haha!) Anyway, I love your comics Emma!
It's really awesome with the skiing and the mountains and stuff! I lived there for 3 and a half years haha! Anyway, this is Emma's site. Shouldn't we be talking about her comics? XD (HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA!!! Again haha!)
I think it's a bit early for naming the fans of your work Miss Emma. btw, just where are you on the top web comic ratings now?
oh yea, don't worry about making a Name for the fans, the fans in due time will name themselves. Remember "Bronies" was self made for the fans of the new "My Little Ponies" show. we'll make our own, just trust us.
Hey, that's actually a little hurtful! I just intended it to be a fun little thing for everyone to think about, and so far it seems like people are enjoying it.
Well, I think it's a good idea and if Emma hadn't thought of it, actually we might have never gotten to change our name. Think about it...... Chapel readers V.S Chapelites ( or whatever Emma decides to call us). I think our new name will add a little glam to it!
I completely agree. Emma totally deserves to name her fans, as she obviously has so many of them that are, at least for now, lacking a cute, fun nickname. It's a GREAT IDEA!!!!
I am sorry if that hurt Miss Emma, but you wanted my thoughts on it and i do not want to lie. I also never said i was opposed to it either. I just feel it might be a bit early for it. I also want your web comic to grow more to fit any name that will stick.
A little constructive criticism once in awhile will do more to help than a never ending stream of "Yes men (or women)"
Hey there. I've been reading your comics for a while and I thought I'd finally comment. I really like your comic. Most of the comics I read are really dramatic and dark. It's always good to read Chapel Chronicles. It's a nice break from all the gore. Haha.
Anyways as for your demonym... What about: Chappies? Or Chapanese? :P
Keep up the awesome work.
P.s. Maybe Chapel can make a guest appearance in my webcomic once I get it off the ground. Haha
Oh, I'm very flattered you chose to comment, and I'm glad you like Chapel so much! Chappies is a good idea...And it would be AMAZING if Chapel could appear in your webcomic!
1. Aw, Chapel's adorable in her Cupid costume.
2. Happy Birthday! Even though I don't know you, just seen your name on the BAGHS Teens list and read your stories in Stone Soup. Maybe if I actually came to the BAGHS events this would be more understandable, my wishing you a happy birthday. XD
3. I don't really like "Chapelites". Chapel Club?
Happy early birthday! NOW the comic comes up. I'm just not used to checking every Friday. Maybe I was a bit too anxious for the next comic to come out, so I was a little early!
Happy birthday Emma!
Rupert doesn't look to happy in his costume judging by the second panel....
Also, it's my 3/4 birthday on February 13, but that's less important.
Oh, Rupert's fine in his costume! In the second panel, he's just determined to help Chapel carry out the surprise! And yeah, a 3/4 is way less important than an normal birthday :P
Taxil, I would NEVER charge anyone for any Chapel content. I don't even put ads up on the site or ask for donations like most people. I just thought it might be fun to come up with a name for our little readership, that's all!
Only 14? Wow. You have officially accomplished more than most people at 30. Congratz on winning your birthday as well(Scott Pilgrim ref). I caught your webcomic and found it interesting and amusing. To many more years of Chapel!
Oh wow, what an AMAZINGLY sweet message! That's a really heartwarming comment and thank you for the sweet birthday wishes! Just curious, how did you find my comic? Anyway, thanks for stopping by and please keep reading! :D
Think that is mind blowing so far Miss Emma? in a year or so, you'll be allowed to DRIVE A CAR for the first time in your life! better save you money for paying for that first car.
to tell a little story, i worked every odd job i could to earn a dollar. (my family was once far from wealthy) it was indeed a well used car. It wasn't a real pretty car. it wasn't really fast either. But i paid for it IN FULL. It felt great, and i am sure when you are ready for it, you'll get to feel that too.
Although I've had times in the past I could afford to buy a car (I'm 19 next week) I still haven't and I don't even have my license. I'm doing just fine without it and have no urge to get one. No need to get a car yet, Emma, unless you want one! :P
WHAT?!?! Happy Birthday, Emma! And Happy Valentine's!
You should call us the Chapelators XD
You are SO COOL I can see how much you put into this comic. It paid off ;)
Wow, I kinda like Chapelators! Between that and Chapelites...maybe we'll have to have a poll our something. AND THANK YOU SO MUCH! I had a lot of fun with this comic, but dang, my neck sure hurt afterwards from inking all those details! :D
Oh wow, what a wonderful thing to hear! That's so sweet! And there's no need to check hourly, just know that the comic is updated around 4 to 5 pm pacific time :)
Aw, how sweet! Chapel must have spent a lot of time on that. :)
Hmm, I don't really have any plans for Valentine's Day. Today I went to our first homeschool group, which was Valentine's party (not much to it so far, but it was held at my best friend's place so at least she was there). My sister's a teacher, so she'll probably bring home leftovers from her class's party... time for us all to stuff ourselves. LOL
Oh my gosh, you're homeschooled too? YES! Homeschoolers unite! I normally don't celebrate Valentine's Day at all because my birthday's the day before, so I don't really care about V-Day too much. XD
lucky kids all of you. I did not have the option of home school. I know I was worse for it. Thankfully, i learned much more out in the real world than i ever did in public school.
i know i have this great idea that spans multiple fictional universes and has like transformers and power rangers and super heroes and any good guy you can think of cause the bad guy is gonna destroy all of reality including the fictional ones
Might wanna rethink that a little. Using someone else's canon means you can't go and make cash from it later. An alternative could be to get into "Creative Commons" characters, people from books and films to which the copyrights have expired like the comic series League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.... (you might be much to young to read it)
Mind you what am I talking about, I love fan fiction!
oh and Emma... you could just call us "chaps" "Hello chaps! How're things goin' chaps! Jolly good yes?" see? it works nicely. Some of the other suggestions are wordy and hard to say, you need something that is easier to say then "Dear Readers" which is the default (and extremely classy) term to use.
check out Emma T Capps new web comic SUNNY,
The League of Fonts
THE LEAGUE OF FONTS is where typefaces are born. Every time a font is created in the world, it manifests as a living, breathing, Font – human for all intents and purposes, but unable to age or die unless their typeface falls into disuse. They live together on the League of Fonts, which serves as a secret island hub, bustling corporation, and home. It’s a world full of its own internal intrigues like any office, and Times New Roman is its powerful CEO. He’s got a lot on his plate lately: planning the League’s famous Decennial party, struggling with modern technology, and hiding his embarrassing addiction to the Twilight movies. Times New Roman is confident he can keep everything under control…but what’s an old font to do when a young boy named Louis Pepping accidentally stumbles onto the secrets of the League?
Find out every Wednesday!
