Happy Holidays, everyone! I hope you like this strip. It was really fun to draw and color, even though that tree took a while! My family and I don’t normally do that much to celebrate Christmas. We just decorate our tree, open presents, and that’s it. I’d say our most prevalent holiday tradition is I usually get up very early (which is super rare for me as I can normally NEVER wake up in the morning) and then annoy my parents until they wake up and are coherent enough to supervise the Opening of the Presents. What holidays do you guys celebrate? What are your holiday traditions?
Haha! Funny! No, I don't think I've been this excited over groceries-well maybe I have a couple of times.... hey, this is the strip we saw you make right, Emma?

Merry Christmas Emma. Love the drawing. Believe it or not I really like how you drew that chair. They're not always easy to get right. I've got my own Christmas strip at if you want to check it out.
Denny 12/28/11 reply
Thanks, Denny! I had a lot of fun with the chair, and I'm proud of how it turned out. Would you mind reposting the link to your comic? Sometimes hyperlinks don't go through because of some anti-spam code we have in the site. I'd love to see your comic!

Sunny 12/27/11 reply
My dad programmed it for me, as that's his profession! :) Are you interested in computer programming?
12/27/11 reply
Yes! I have my own comics called Cupcake Comics I was thinking of making a website for them :D

Wait, WHAT?!? Chapel is wearing SOCKS! the bare footed one is swearing socks! the end of the world is nigh! (j/k)

Merry Christmas everyone. ^^
12/24/11 reply
Well, that's a start for somebody who barely wears shoes.................
12/25/11 reply
Yep, socks! She's only wearing them to get into the festive spirit, though, because she thought just the Santa hat wasn't quite enough.
12/25/11 reply
I also hate socks..... for someone who's cartwheeling and doing handstands and yoga and such, they are not the most desirable kind of footwear.... and I should probably have realised that by now as my toes have had a really bad year, so to speak.
12/28/11 reply

Aww..... that's a really nice picture you drew Emma! Happy Holidays!
12/24/11 reply
Thanks so much! Hope you have a great one. :)
12/25/11 reply

The tree looks very realistic!
I love it!
12/24/11 reply
Thanks so much! I worked really hard on it, so I'm glad you like the end result.

Awwwwww......... I agree that putting the star on top is fun, but it's actually kind of an embarrasing experience because it's hard for me to reach it. I love the renewed appearence of rupert, by the way. This is the first time he's shown up in a while.
Love it!!!!
12/24/11 reply
Oh, and I celebrate Christmas by the way. Emma, have you ever seen the cartoon Calvin and Hobbes? In some ways it's very much like Peanuts. Our family has a Christmas Eve party, then in the morning we open presents and eat bagels. My friend and I also have our own little 'tradition'- we always get a cough or cold on Christmas and New Year's.
Chapel is standing on a chair and wearing socks.... are you sure that's safe???
12/24/11 reply
I LOVE CALVIN AND HOBBES!!!
12/24/11 reply
YAYYYYYYYYYYY! I hoped someone would remember good old Calvin. There are not many of us Calvin and Hobbes lovers left out there, though, sadly.
12/24/11 reply
Oh, and happy holidays everybody!
12/24/11 reply
You too!
12/25/11 reply
Happy Holidays, happy holidays! it's me, miss stupid, and i've written a story that totally rocks!!! but it needs some editing. great tree...don't you color it on the computer?
12/28/11 reply
Oh, you're wrong about that! TONS of people in the comic book world love Calvin and Hobbes. Its popularity hasn't waned in the least.
12/25/11 reply
Oh.
12/25/11 reply
That's good.
12/25/11 reply
I always have to get a chair to reach it, too!
12/25/11 reply
Well, even if I stand on a chair it almost isn't enough, I'm only four foot seven. This year our tree had no star because my dad couldn't POSSIBLY be bothered to get the darn chair and stand on the thing. I actually got it on at one point but it was crooked, so I took it off.... and it never went on again. Everyone in my family was probably hoping the other would do it and waiting for the last possible moment......
12/27/11 reply
Ah, I see. 4'7" isn't that short for your age, though. I'm almost 15 and not even 5 feet yet. When we went on our class trip to Spain, the shopkeepers kept saying to my friends, "Take care of your younger sister now!"
12/27/11 reply
Ohhhhhh that's really sad! There's a kid in my grade who is the tallest person of his age I've ever seen- I swear he must be almost a foot taller than I am! In second grade (oh my that's already two years ago!) though I was the second shortest in my class...... right next to my friend who must still be the smallest!!!
