I love that game. But then, I balance rocks in impossible ways, too... I like your tale of how the comic came about. I have a similar tradition in my family, only I custom-make wrapping paper for all of my gifts. The personally made touch is the best touch!

haha, When I was younger I had a friend I'd play Jenga with on a regular basis. Only catch was we got bored and invented "Honor Jenga" where the current player had to remove one of the outer two pieces as close to the bottom as possible. We got to 14 or 15 Jenga blocks on top of each other with the rest of the stack on top of it. Lots of fun. :D

Oooh, that's a neat variation! I'll have to try that out sometime when normal Jenga gets boring. Thanks for reading and commenting!

Hi! I saw this on the BAGHS group email. This is a cool strip.

Oh, thank you so much! I didn't expect too many people would actually come look. I'm glad you like my comic! Will you be at the Halloween party?

Is that Chapel's family in the picture in the background? :D Awesome strip btw!
10/22/11 responder
Yes, it IS Chapel's family! I was hoping someone would notice, good for you! The photo shows her dad Sam, her mom Lia, her older brother Barnaby, and Chapel. Thanks!

how old is barnaby?

I always do that, overthinking is my downfall.
10/22/11 responder
Mine, too! Especially in games like poker or scrabble, I'll be sitting there for 20 minutes trying to figure out the best move!
10/22/11 responder
I overthink everything, especially math tests, and scrabble.
11/4/11 responder
YES, those are my two main sources of overthinking. Scrabble I've gotten better at not overthinking, but math tests...don't get me started.
11/4/11 responder
don't worry. I absolutely despise tests
11/4/11 responder
Me too.

Great point! Never overthink games like Bandu or Jenga!
Ali 10/21/11 responder
I've never heard of Bandu, is it similar to Jenga? And yes, Chapel's flights of fancy always land her in trouble!
10/22/11 responder
I've never heard of it either.

i have that same game! by the way, i love chapel's hair!
11/13/11 responder
Thanks! I love her hair, too!

your welcome--is it frustrating to color all the strips? i like drawing girls, but unless I have a picture, i can't draw anything else and don't color my drawings.
11/14/11 responder
It's not frustrating, although it takes longer than the actual drawing does. I've simplified the coloring method down until it's pretty streamlined now, so it's not that bad. If I work pretty hard I can finish one strip in an evening.

wow, emma...i mean, it looks like an adult drew it!!! and you're 14!!! it shows young people can be as good (or better) at art as old peeps!
11/14/11 responder
Awww, thank you so much! That's so sweet to hear. Actually, Chapel is a simplified version of my art style, so I actually normally draw much more realistically (you can look on my tumblr blog for some of that stuff). But thank you so much! These comments are SO sweet!

i bet if there was a newberry 4 kids u would win it!
11/15/11 responder
Well that's a bit of a stretch, but thank you!!!
11/15/11 responder
not really...you would at least get an honor or be a finalist. they'd AT LEAST put you for consideration.

In the game of Jenga, so much depends upon the crucial first move. As it says in The Art of War, never let the enemy know you. My move must be surprising, yet calculated. Here it comes: the perfect move. Fred will be reduced to sobs, and I will have my . . . . . . victory . . .
