After the morning’s disaster, Chapel and Barnaby figure out another use for the treehouse! For Season Five, I’m planning to have strips loosely interconnected rather than completely stand-alone. I feel like this improves the sense of continuity between the comics and rewards you readers who check in every week for the new installment! I’m pretty excited about the slightly new direction I’m taking the narrative for this new season.

Speaking of Harry Potter, did you hear the news that they’ll be releasing a spinoff movie based on “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them?” Are you as excited as I am?
I once had a teacher that was like Umbridge...it was not fun.

Thank you! I'm so happy you like it! If Hogwarts had had an active PTA, a lot of events of the books would have turned out veryyyy differently.
 Emma  10/3/13
Yes,I heard,I have the book Fantastic Beasts and where to find them
Yes, I do as well. It's an interesting book!

Today is going to be a very sad day. This afternoon the vet is coming out to put our 13-year-old German Shepherd, Ranger, to sleep. We're not really sure what's wrong, but it happened fast. :c
Emily15 9/17/13
I'm so sorry.... :,(
Ranger was a good dog....
Even though I didn't really know him ever...
Miss L.S.P 9/18/13
I am so sorry to hear that. Stories like this always break my heart. I have three cats, and I'm noticing one of their heath starting to fail and its scaring me, so I totally understand. :( Just remember that you gave him lots of love while you had him, and I'm sure that he appreciated all of it.
Sam Tweedle 9/18/13
i under stand your feelings. I too had to put down my first dog on my orders. She was so old and sick, i could not bear to see her suffer any more. she was beyond any more help the Vet could give her.

It made me rethink about how i saw life and those around me.

the bible said god gave to us stewardship over all plants and animals on this world. The Dogs and cats are animals WE created. WE should be more responable and caring over our pets than we do. If putting your beloved Dog to sleep is the most merciful thing we can do for him, we should do it. there is enough suffering in this world, we do not need to spread it to the animals that can not fully understand why.
Dr. Taxil Necrobane 9/18/13
Oh no, I'm so sorry! That's heartbreaking! I'm sure you're doing the right thing by putting him out of his misery, and I'm sure he had a great life with you and your family. Still, it's very sad.

I hate umbridge. yes, more than voldemort. And I also heard about the movie! so exciting!!
coco 9/14/13
Umbridge is the worst! And yes, the movie is very exciting.
 Emma  9/20/13
Good news! My Father is getting better and is in rehab now, he should be home soon.

I feel that J.K. Roweling is going back to the harry Potter well. she seems to have made so much money off of her harry, she wants some more of it.

Call me Jaded, but i am not impressed.

other wise, a treehouse club is kinda lonely if there are just two people, so should we expect to see more characters to show up?
Dr. Taxil Necrobane 9/14/13
Yay! I hope your father can be In tip-top shape, soon! ;D
Miss L.S.P 9/15/13
I'm so glad your father is getting better! And no, more people won't be showing up anytime soon.
 Emma  9/20/13
What's Chapel reading? Is it another Harry Potter?
RowAn 9/14/13
Umbridge is from HP.... Nasty woman...!
Miss L.S.P 9/14/13
well it really DID took....
( •_•)>⌐■-■
some wild horses to drag Umbridge away!
Dr. Taxil Necrobane 9/14/13
To be more accurate, it was centaurs.......
Missy 9/14/13
shush you. ಠ_ಠ
Dr. Taxil Necrobane 9/14/13
Missy 9/17/13
Yes, it's Harry Potter!
 Emma  9/20/13
Yes, definentally NOT PTA approved.....
Miss L.S.P 9/13/13
Ha ha, of course!
 Emma  9/20/13
I had to actually google the punchline. Heh.

I love the third panel. So wonderful! :D

I applaud your decision to loosely connect the strips with continuity. You've done it before and I think those are often amongst your strongest works. Its a good way for the storytelling to grow. I am really looking forward to see where the stories go this season.
Sam Tweedle 9/13/13
Ha ha - I figured Harry Potter would be pretty universal, but I guess not.

I'm so happy you like the 3rd panel! It also warms my heart that you agree with my decision to connect my strips with some more continuity. I'm excited for it!
 Emma  9/13/13
Well, its not so much that Harry Potter isn't universal as much as I am not quite up to snuff on my Harry Potter mythos. I think we spoke about references - never worry about going to obscure or to universal. I find obscure references to be funnier than obvious ones.

But I thought it was funny I had to google the punchline. That very rarely happens to me. :D
Sam Tweedle 9/15/13
BTW - at your recommendation I just started watching "Orphan Black" and I really like it a lot. Do you watch "Game of Thrones?" If you don't you are missing the best show on television. Also, I just got access to all fifty years of existing Dr. Who episodes and I've decided to start allllll the way back at the "real" season one. The first episode, The Unearthly Child, is so good! If you've never seen it I'd love to send you a copy.
Sam Tweedle 9/16/13
Panel 3 is adorable in a simple, charming way.
Emily15 9/13/13
Yay, I'm glad you like it! I wanted to have a "moment of realization" before the Treehouse Book Club began in earnest.
 Emma  9/13/13
Yes, I am just as excited for the new spinoff movie! J.K. Rowling is writing the spin-off herself! I also love that they're reading Harry Potter!
Aymes 9/13/13
It surprises me that they're doing a spinoff, but maybe it shouldn't...
