Aww, poor Chapel- I'd be pretty upset too.

As for similar moments-- perhaps not quite that extreme, but I do remember one time a few years ago when I was tricked into thinking my siblings were making me watch a movie I wasn't the least interested in-- when in fact they were just messing with me, and watching one of my favorite movies ever.
Like I said, not a big deal, but I was pretty irritated at the time. LOL
5/30/12 responder
Awww, that's can be irritating! At least it's nowhere near as bad as what Chapel did to Barnaby, though -- she had a right to be upset.
5/31/12 responder
She sure did!

HEY GUYS JUST A POLL! I'm thinking of maybe doing a livestream later today as I color next Friday's comic. The livestream would start in 3-4 hours from now (so at around 3:30 to 4:30 pacific time, 6:30 to 7:30 east coast) depending on when I'm able to start it. Would anyone be interested in coming if I did end up doing that?
5/26/12 responder
YES YES YES YES YES
5/26/12 responder
That was from me lol
5/26/12 responder
Are you gonna do it emma? I'm already there...
5/26/12 responder
Nope, not enough people wanted to + I ended up having something else to do! I didn't say it was definite, anyways.
5/26/12 responder
Oh well. Hopefully I'll be Here when the next one comes around!
5/27/12 responder
I'm actually considering the idea of doing scheduled weekly livestreams every Saturday for Season Three. Basically on Friday you'd come here to read the strip, and then on Saturday watch me draw the next week's comic! What does everyone think?
5/28/12 responder
YES.
YES.
YES.
PLEASE
5/28/12 responder
I'm good with it!
5/29/12 responder
that sounds like a good idea Miss Emma.
5/29/12 responder
Taxil, you should join us, I don't think I have ever seen your on any of those things...
5/29/12 responder
ugh, you, not your.
5/29/12 responder
i will if i can, but i can not promise anything for now.
5/29/12 responder
oh. ok. (>-<)
5/30/12 responder
You're here on the site commenting so much, you must have enough free time to come! We'd love to have you, so please consider it!
5/31/12 responder
it doesn't have a voice chat channel does it? i don't have a mic connected to my comp at the time being.
5/31/12 responder
Nope, it doesn't! Well, at least, the viewers can't voice chat. You guys DO get to hear the audio of my music and hear ME talk, but the viewers just use the chat function on the side -- not a mic chat, just an IM. Basically, you can hear me talk, but I can't hear you guys!
5/31/12 responder
What is a livestream?
6/19/12 responder

i love how she goes, "A faaaaake?" lol, she must love knockoffs XD
5/26/12 responder
No, she's saying that because she's scandalized he got a knockoff and not the real thing...but she wants the hat enough to forgive that.
5/26/12 responder
She must be really into hats in order to forgive her brother THAT fast..
5/26/12 responder
Of course she is! We've seen all along that she's VERY invested in her hats, haven't we?
5/26/12 responder
Of course! But to forgive somebody just because of a knockoff hat? Her brother must know her too well! :) BTW sort I haven't been up to date with all the comments and everything!
5/26/12 responder
Sorry. Not sort :p
5/26/12 responder
Happens to all of us! Also, might you be able to come to a livestream later if I do one? The info's in the top comment.
5/26/12 responder
I don't know. I will probably be on an airplane by then. I really wish that I was able to though!
5/26/12 responder
OHHHH! Where are you goin'????
5/26/12 responder
Oh I went to Texas for a little while and I was coming back.... Ahh, HOME!!! I miss TX though....
5/27/12 responder
Texas isn't all that bad of place dispite what media says. just stay away from the boarder and you'll be fine.
5/27/12 responder
Why stay away from the border?
5/28/12 responder
the boarder is a Lawless war zone where the drug cartels are running wild and unchecked. You are too innocent and young to hear the full truth of what exactly is happening down there. so i will sum it up as calling the boarder is the closest to a Hell on earth as you can find here in on the North American Continent.
5/29/12 responder
Oh, the drug cartels and all the murders! I know about those, don't worry, I read the New York Times thoroughly.
5/29/12 responder
New york times alone isn't good enough these days if you really want to keep on the news. I go to drudgereport dot com to wider scope on the news. hey, it's free at least.
5/29/12 responder
Well, I personally think the NYTimes is plenty, coupled with Huffington Post. Plus, I don't really agree with The Drudge Report's political views.
5/31/12 responder
those two alone isn't really enough, i read the online version of vast number of papers. that and Drudge also carries NYTimes and Huffington as well. Oh, i should also add that theblaze dot com is also one of my fequented news outlet.

even if you don't like their "political views", you should read their side as well. see both sides THEN make a judgement call. I do, and Miss Emma dear, you are too young to be closed minded.
5/31/12 responder
Actually, there IS a real place on earth (in Europe or something) called Hell.
5/29/12 responder
Hell, California and Hell, Michigan. I have have been though the latter. i still regret in not buying that T-Shirt from there. i shouldn't have to explain what was printed on the shirt. ;-)

oh yea, there is a Hell, Norway too.
5/29/12 responder
That's so cool! How long were you in Texas for? Was it an extended trip or just a vacation?
5/28/12 responder
Oh actually, it wasn't really a vacation at all, um, I was actually there for a funeral...
5/29/12 responder
That's okay that you weren't able to make it, hopefully next weekend!
5/28/12 responder
Ah, that's no problem at all! But you're right, with the whole hat-as-a-bribe thing, I wanted to show how well Barnaby knows Chapel. Considering the 7-year age difference between them, they're VERY close.
5/26/12 responder

This. Is Great!!!

Although that's an.. Odd hat.
5/26/12 responder
Oh, and I'm an only child, so.. Sorry Emma.
5/26/12 responder
Me too. No sibling stories for us, I guess!
5/26/12 responder
Me too, me too. ONLY CHIDEREN UNITE!
5/26/12 responder
Yeahh!
5/26/12 responder
YES YES YES
5/27/12 responder
Oh, autocorrect, how you suck. I meant CHILDREN.
5/26/12 responder
I. HATE. AUTOCORRECT. (Sorry people had to say that)
5/27/12 responder
Me too! You know, if you're on your phone, you can turn it off!
5/28/12 responder
I know, but it inserts apostrophes and other nice things. Plus, I just typed "knw" instead of "know" by accident and it changed it. So, it's a helpful curse :3
5/28/12 responder
yes, yes, but I absolutely hate it when it changes it, you delete it, retype it, and it changes it again. That's just SO aggravating!
5/29/12 responder
OH I KNOW!!!
5/29/12 responder
BLAH!!!! (><)
5/30/12 responder
even thought about using a table top computer to post here instead of a smart phone? you won't get that problem of auto correct screwing up your posts.
5/30/12 responder
Well, she can use whatever she wants!
5/31/12 responder
I know, i know. i am just offering some other options...
5/31/12 responder
I was using a computer.
6/2/12 responder
Once I was writing an email to my friend, and when I spelled her last name, it went, 'DID YOU MEAN: - (whatever the suggestion were, I forget, sorry)
UGGHHHH....
5/30/12 responder
It's not that strange! It's based off an actual hat made by that designer, although I changed the colors a bit. Actually, it's the same designer who did the hat from "Zeal of Thrifting."
5/26/12 responder

Me and my sister arent close any more but when we were I played this prank on her and made her think she broke mom's favorite vase. She cried and I felt bad and told her it was just broken glass I found on the road and showed her the vase still intact. She was furious with me and locked herself in her room for hours. I finally got her to come out and we got ice cream from the ice cream man. It's one of my best and worst memories with her, I wish we were still that close...
5/26/12 responder
where there is life, there is still hope Lilian.

I will pray for you and your sister to mend fences and become close once more.
5/26/12 responder
Thank you, it's strange hearing that from someone named Dr. Taxil Necrobane but it warms my heart all the same.
5/26/12 responder
i know my screen handle here is a bit silly, but i do try to mean well and be as truthful as possable.
5/27/12 responder
That's sweet of you, Taxil.
5/26/12 responder
Aw, what a nice memory (although not so nice that you tricked her)! It's a shame you're not as close with your sister anymore, though. Do you still talk with her, at least?
5/26/12 responder

She shouldn't let him off so easily. Joke or not that would be kinda cruel thing to do to his sister.
NefariousDrO 5/26/12 responder
Yes, it is kinda mean. If someone did that to me, I'm not sure if I'd let them off so easy...but keep in mind, she's so excited to see him that she's letting him go. PLUS, he brought her a hat.
5/26/12 responder
True. Still, I wonder if there'll be a payback later on, though...
NefariousDrO 5/28/12 responder
You'll just have to see! Also, I'm glad you're commenting again, we haven't seen you for a while!
5/28/12 responder
I tend to come and go, I work full time and have far too many interests. I'm especially infamous amongst my friends for making elaborate costumes that take months to complete; so I'll likely disappear for weeks at a time, alas.
NefariousDrO 5/31/12 responder

I'm an only child, so no. :( BUT I LOVED THIS STRIP BARNABY FTW!
5/26/12 responder
I'm an only child too. I like being an only child, but sometimes I think it'd be nice to have a sibling. YAY I'M GLAD YOU LIKED IT! Next week's strip will feature lots of Barnaby hijinks as well. He and Chapel make a good duo, don't they?
5/26/12 responder
like batman and robin duo?
......
oh my god, that mental image... Barnaby as Batman, and Chapel as robin.... i would so love to see that! ><
5/26/12 responder
There's already a strip planned with that in, you must be psychic.
5/26/12 responder
REALLY wow that's creepy!
5/26/12 responder
Yeah, Taxil has strange powers...I've had that strip thumbnailed for weeks, too!
5/26/12 responder
Yes, yes i do have powers. there are times i wish i didn't, and there are times i wish i had more. I am not 100% in control of them either.

I have learned maybe too much yet not enough of the paranormal. I have delt with all sorts of fields in my days. i can anwser questions you might have to the best of my knowlage and that which i am allowed to say. please post them here if you wish. i will respond asap to them.
5/27/12 responder
.......
5/27/12 responder
you seem doubtful Miss L.S.P.. that is understandable. it is rather hard to prove my powers here on a comment board. but to clear up some not well worded statement i had made. My "powers" are not some super hero like, nor is it a wizard-ish ablity either.

I can see/sense the spirits and souls of the dead. i had at one time phyicaly interacted with one. i don't want to do that again if i have too.

I do have talent to give more accurate than most predictions of events and such of future events. i do have resections on that power, so don't ask me for the next week's winning lotto numbers. i can't do that. <_<
5/27/12 responder
I see.
5/27/12 responder
don't believe in ghosts much then Miss Emma?
5/27/12 responder
Well I don't.
5/30/12 responder
that is a pity. just because you don't believe in them, does not mean they don't exist.

Poor nearly-headless Nick would be tearing up (if he could)if he heard you don't believe in him. ;-)
5/30/12 responder
Wasn't he from Harry Potter?
5/30/12 responder
Indeed. Considering we have at least two big Potter fans here, the Irony kinda thick. don't you think?
5/30/12 responder
OH MY GOD I LOVE NICK! HE'S SO GREAT
But the Grey Lady is better...gotta have mah Ravenclaw pride! :D
5/30/12 responder
Yeah, but Nick isn't so bad either. It's just that the Grey Lady is more pretty and her head isn't one millimeter from falling off, but ok
5/30/12 responder
well, yeah. That too ;D
I love all the ghosts!
5/31/12 responder
good to hear that. let me tell you a bit more about ghosts. yes, there are some ghosts in real life that are dangious and evil. HOWEVER! the vast majority of ghosts are not hostile to the living. i would wager about 90 to 70% of ghosts are locked into a pre-set actions and movements. They more than likely can't even sense YOU being there.

I also know there are times when a ghost will appear before you and it realize you are there and be friendly. More than likely they are there to try to tell you something that is critically important and could very will save your life.
5/31/12 responder
Yeah, but how can we tell which are good and which are bad?
By the way, I'm TOTALLY not superstitious and I try to be open minded, but I don't always succeed. Which I'm sure you all have noticed. :P
5/31/12 responder
The Bad ghosts will do all that it can to hurt you and break things around you. I don't think i need to discribe what they can do here.

the good ones try to give you a message or a warning to avoid danger. some can talk, others can't. for example= a ghost appears to you while you are sleeping in a hotel room late a night. it wakes you up and even though you will likely be scared of it. it won't hurt you. You head out to the main desk of the hotel to change rooms or check out. as they are working on it, the fire alarms go off. you find out the AC unit in your room shorts out and catchs on fire moments after you leave the room.

if the ghost didn't appear to get you out of that room, you would have died in your sleep from the smoke and fire. that is an example of a good ghost.
6/1/12 responder
Is that second one really someone's "experience" with supposed ghosts or did you make it up? It's a good story either way!
6/1/12 responder
i've condensed it because it's a much longer story, but yes. it was a real event.
6/1/12 responder
speaking of emma, where is she?
5/30/12 responder
I can't reply to my comments 24/7 you know, although I do get online every day.
5/31/12 responder
Oh. It just seemed like a couple of days since we actually talked with you.
5/31/12 responder
Are you like that long island medium lady???
Lol Jk! My great-grandma was supposedly psychic too, but I never met her so...
5/27/12 responder
Yes, i'm much like her, but i will admit, she's probably better skilled at interacting with human dead than i am. I have extra talents she doesn't have, but i guess it evens out in the end.
5/27/12 responder
Um. Okay.
5/27/12 responder
Ditto.
5/27/12 responder
How do you even know who Harry Potter PWNS ALL is talking about?
5/28/12 responder
She's on a show on TLC. The long island medium lady.
5/28/12 responder
yes, i am aware of her, even before she had a show.
5/28/12 responder
Is it possible to prove them at all? Sorry but I have to say I don't really believe you.
5/28/12 responder
Yeah, to be totally honest, it's difficult for me to believe as well...
5/28/12 responder
Yeah, me too. It's all wishy-washy, that stuff
5/28/12 responder
so close minded from someone so young....

i have lived a quite much for my years and i have at times stuck my nose (and the rest of my body) into places i should not have. other times i just lucky and have been at the right place at the right time. But i have seen and exprienced things you haven't yet.

go out and be adventurious young one!
5/29/12 responder
Oh I would love to! Just not with dead people and spirits!
haha.....
5/29/12 responder
with the rare exception, ghosts and hauntings are a lot like land mines. you are likely to not know that they are there until you step into one.

also i should add this. unless you are rather deep under ground, when the sun is up (be it cloudy, stormy, what ever) the hauntings will STOP. solar energy shuts them down 99.99% of the time.
5/29/12 responder
LAND MINES? That may be the LEAST enticing incentive I have ever....
5/30/12 responder
Sorry didn't mean to be rude by the way... :(
5/30/12 responder
i was trying to use land mines as an adjective to these things, but a trip snare will work too. you know, those traps you see in toons grabs your foot and leaves you hanging upside down in the air.
5/30/12 responder
oh, I know that thing!
5/30/12 responder
I agree. I like climbing trees and all that but climbing trees with ghosts doesn't sound that good, sorry.
5/30/12 responder
as far as i am aware of, ghosts don't climb trees.
5/30/12 responder
okay, that is my favorite line from you EVER, Taxil XD
5/30/12 responder
Yeah, it's the funniest too. No offence.
5/31/12 responder
oh.
5/30/12 responder
I think so too. I don't think much about paranormal activity.
5/30/12 responder
I get that feeling alot from other people Miss Emma. I guess it's like trying to explain to a blind person what colors is like.

My belief is that seeing/sensing the spirits of the dead is alternet version of E.S.P. which DOES have some scientific basis of existance. i just wished they did more work into cracking the mysitery of how it all works.
5/29/12 responder
maybe i should amend what i said, it's next to impossable to prove what i can do here on a comment board. if i was able to talk to you face to face, it would be another story. but seeing you in person is more than likely not going to happen either. :-(
5/29/12 responder
? ? ?
5/28/12 responder
Quite. :D
5/26/12 responder
Yay I'm glad you think so, too!
5/26/12 responder

I can't be bribed that easy. at least my brother couldn't do it. >)

BTW, miss Emma, you are doing better in making Barnaby look better, but you need to practice on his lower legs and feet. feet don't bend like that if they are not broken. ><
5/25/12 responder
I'm glad you like how Barnaby looks! And I do know that, but please keep in mind that it's a simplified style, and it is also my comic. I know plenty about classical anatomy, trust me.
5/26/12 responder
I hear ya kiddo. but that leg and foot being like that dragged up an old memory of one time i jumped off a wall in my back yard and i landed like barnaby's pose in the 4th panel. i think i tore a ligamint and it HURT so much. ><
5/26/12 responder
That sounds painful.
5/26/12 responder
it WAS painful. it hurt and burned for days. ><
5/27/12 responder
Eeek.
5/27/12 responder
when i said, burned, i meant that a torn ligamint will not just hurt, but will give you a burning sensation. even if you are not really burnt. if that ever happens to you, go to your doctor and let him take a look at it.
5/27/12 responder
yes, yes..
5/27/12 responder
That just made me think of when I broke my arm 4 years ago and it took us 34 hours to figure it out. :P
5/28/12 responder
(blink) that long to realize you have a broken arm? that must have been really something to keep you guessing that long.
5/28/12 responder
Yes, we were kind of stupid..
5/28/12 responder
It once took my family a week to realize my finger was broken, so that's not stupid at all!
5/28/12 responder
wow, just wow. many years ago i knew right away i broke my finger when someone accidently slammed shut a car door on it.
5/29/12 responder
eech. That's happened to me before... Although I don't think it was broken and I was the one who slammed the door. :(
5/29/12 responder
Oh that is GROSS. I feel bad for you two though.
5/30/12 responder
thanks for thinking of us.
5/30/12 responder
yes. thank goodness that that happened years ago...
5/30/12 responder
For us.. Well, I have a scar from it, I could almost not even MOVE my arm, couldn't open a marker top, and couldn't put weight on it at all. it actually was a bit stupid of us.
5/30/12 responder
I still think Barnaby's pretty dang cute. Just sayin' XD lol
5/26/12 responder

So you know how everyone has been saying that Barnaby's cute? Well, I don't really think he is.....BUT he is definitely cute in the third panel!
5/25/12 responder
Oh dear! Well at least I know I've created a likeable character!
5/25/12 responder
That's for sure! Although at the moment, I'm not really liking his personality...
5/27/12 responder
I AM!
5/28/12 responder
Bribing his sister and an attempt to lie? I'm not so sure about that...
5/28/12 responder
Yeah, but he bought her a hat.
COME ON...
and her mom was in on it too, I think, so we can blame her as well!
5/28/12 responder
actually according to Emma, he basically pranked the whole family...
5/28/12 responder
so her mom didn't have anything to do with it!
5/28/12 responder
Oh.
I still think he's absolutely ADORBS :3
5/28/12 responder
true dat, true dat (^^)
5/29/12 responder
I see what you mean. But I don't have a sibling, so I don't know what the ideal brother would be like....
5/30/12 responder
I don't think an absolutely ideal brother would lie to his mother and bribe his sister to forgive him for making her cry
5/31/12 responder

Barnaby I am so furious I cried over you and its all a prank? Are you crazy? Hey Chapel I got you a Philip Treacy knowckoff. A Faaake? Well okay I forgive you then. Shall we tell Mom you were in on the prank all along?
